You’ll often see Darryl Roach, the owner of Bay Bathroom Design & Build when he comes out to do quotes on your bathrooms. He has an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to plumbing and all things bathroom. We managed to steal him away from his busy schedule for a mini interview.
How long have you been in business?
I have been in business since I was about 24… that’s quite a long time! Bay Bathrooms was formed in 2001, but I started doing bathrooms from about 1998.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
My favourite part would be interacting with our clients, and helping them make their dreams come true.
Do you have a “most memorable” bathroom?
Thinking back, the most memorable bathroom would probably be the second bathroom we ever did, where it was made solely for the husband and was a fully tiled-to-the-ceiling bathroom. I’d never done anything like that before and it was something I was really proud of.
So he (the client) chose everything in it?
Yes, every bathroom we do is different because it’s what each individual client wants. He chose a drop-in bath with a waterfall spout and a built in sound system!
There are no standard bathrooms. We build them but at the end of the day it’s the client’s style, with a little help from us.
